Galaxy Z Fold 3 gets Microsoft Office apps designed for mobile working

Microsoft is expanding on its existing partnership with Samsung to bring its online collaboration software to the company’s recently announced Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The two companies have been working together over the years to make Android phones work better with Windows 10. And now they plan to integrate Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams Outlook with the Samsung foldable phone.

Thanks to its larger size and 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Display, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is ideal for mobile multitasking. That’s why Microsoft is currently working to import office software, video conferencing software, and email clients to the device.

In a press release, Patrick Chomet, Samsung’s EVP and head of mobile products and experiences said that Microsoft software is an example of how Galaxy Z Fold 3 users can get the most out of their device’s foldable display.

“The Multi-Active window allows you to run multiple apps at the same time. For example, you can open Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and easily drag and drop a table into your presentation.”

Office, Teams and Outlook integration

The Galaxy Z Fold 3, in its third revision, aims to improve the productivity of Microsoft users by providing users with experiences that are not possible in the best business laptops.

For example, at a Microsoft Teams meeting, half of the folding screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 allows you to see a full-screen presentation, and the other half can see the faces of your peers. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is Samsung’s first foldable phone to support the S Pen, so users can also lift the whiteboard and stylus what they’re talking about on the blackboard.

Not only is it easier to see your emails in your Outlook inbox, but in the double-glazed mode of your email client on your foldable Galaxy device, users read emails across the side of the screen, like a desktop. You can also preview the other side.

For Microsoft Office, you can use the MultiActive window to run multiple apps simultaneously, so you can open Word on one side and view your notes in OneNote on the other side.
