The Batman trailer has been released by Warner Bros, and it features Robert Pattinson’s first bone-crunching performance as a DC Comics superhero.
The trailer, which was shown at the DC Fandome event on Saturday, shows Pattinson’s Dark Knight methodically taking down bad guys despite being outnumbered, and his Batsuit absorbing multiple bullets.
The trailer teases a dark, bleak, and violent Batman, with Pattinson’s voice saying about the Bat-Signal, “Fear is a tool.” When the light strikes the sky, it is more than just a signal. It’s a caution.”
The trailer features a slew of iconic characters, including Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Batman’s muscle car Batmobile tearing up the streets and emerging unscathed from explosions.
In the trailer, police arrest a man in a cafe. The milk in his coffee has been swirled into a question mark, which is the calling card of Batman’s arch-enemy The Riddler.
Pattinson’s voice can be heard later in the video describing the situation in Gotham City: “This is a powder keg.” “It’s the Riddler vs. the Riddler.”
The film “The Batman” will be released in theaters on March 4th.
