The teaser trailer for HBO’s Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon

HBO has released a teaser trailer for House of the Dragon. It’s an upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, containing the first real footage. The show was announced two years ago. Which is based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood. A book that centers on the Targaryen family’s history and takes place two centuries before the events of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, on which Game of Thrones is based.

The House of the Dragon trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot beats of the show. But it does show off its impressive cast, which includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Sonoya Mizuno, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, and Olivia Cooke. As one would expect, there appears to be a lot of sword fighting and references to dragons.

The question is how many Game of Thrones fans will return for House of the Dragon. Given how divisive the former show’s final season was — not least because of the writing of a certain character with the surname “Targaryen.” HBO has not provided a specific release date. They only stated that House of the Dragon will air in 2022 and will be available on the HBO Max streaming service.
