Social networking service Twitter has paused the verification programme, saying that the verification programme needs enhancements to the application and review process. Twitter had conceded that few fake records had been mistakenly verified. Twitter won’t allow new individuals to apply for verification process.
A major tweet from the official Twitter Verified (@verified) account said, “We’ve temporarily hit pause on rolling out access to apply for Verification so we can make improvements to the application and review process. For those who have been waiting, we know this may be disappointing. We want to get things right, and appreciate your patience.”
On the off chance that you have as of late applied for the verification process, Twitter Verified might have said that they will in any case be assessing existing applications, so the freeze is simply keeping new individuals from having the option to apply.
Product lead, Kayvon Beykpour said, “To clarify, we haven’t paused applications. we’ve been gradually rolling out access to the application (it’s not at 100% yet) and that roll-out is paused until we can better handle the scale. for those it’s been rolled out to, we’re still accepting and processing applications,”
This isn’t the first run Twitter has stopped its verification programme. Twitter suspended the verification process in 2017 verifying a profile of a racial oppressor.
Anybody can apply to get the desired blue check, so it’s not out and out astounding that there has been a staggering number of uses.
